A single clear Andalusī bookhand in black ink; centered book and chapter headings in bold black; partially dotted ductus; frequent vowels and hamzas; no shaddas. Even though the abjad notation is written in the text mainly with a single letter, on ff. 6r-21r, abjad notation is given in full letter form (e.g. “point bāʾ” instead of “point B”). Substantial diagrams mostly in the same black ink of the main text, although in some diagrams the abjad notation is in red; a few blank spaces left for missing diagrams; diagrams on inserted folios (between 68v-69r, 128v-128bisr, 129v-130r, 143v-144r); no tables; blank spaces left for tables, except for the star catalogue.
