_ (the underscore) is the placeholder for exactly one character.
% (the percent sign) is the placeholder for no, one or more than one character.
%% (two percent signs) is the placeholder for no, one or more than one character, but not for blank space (so that a search ends at word boundaries).

= al-Battānī, Sharḥ al-Maqālāt al-arbaʿ fī l-qaḍāʾ bi-l-nujūm ʿalā l-ḥawādith (C.2.0900). — Title: Kitāb al-Arbiʿā (sic), Sharḥ al-Battānī (62v). — Acephalous, the first folio covering the first chapter ‘On the knowledge of the sun, moon, planets and fixed stars’ is missing. Despite the fact that f. 5r in the Coptic foliation is misplaced, the work seems to be arranged correctly. Minor marginal corrections in the scribe’s hand; no glosses, except for a marginal collation in the scribe’s hand (57r).
